Apostleship of the Sea auctions off Israel trip

Apostleship of the Sea (AoS) is auctioning off a place on its upcoming Sea to Sea Charity Trek in Israel.

The trip is worth £2000 and covers an 8-day trek through Israel, including flights from London to Tel Aviv.

The trek itself organised by Classic Tours, experts in charity challenges, promises to be a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore the Holy Land.

AOS is an agency of the Catholic Bishops' Conferences of England & Wales and Scotland that serves seafarers in ports across the UK and around the world.

Some ninety per cent of world trade is carried by ship, and some 100,000 seafarers visit British ports each year. They are commonly away from home for nine to 12 months at a time, suffering loneliness, depression and even exploitation. They also have to work in gruelling and often dangerous conditions.

AOS are using the well know charity auction site Buy Once Give Twice, and hope that this will prove to be a popular lot that attracts some high bidders. The money raised will go towards continuing the vital work of AOS.

To bid in the auction, go to www.buyoncegivetwice.co.uk and search for Apostleship of the Sea or Israel Trek.
