Apple just released iOS 9.1, the latest version of its mobile software. This firmware is the last version tested publicly and it brings along a flurry of much-needed bug fixes and a batch of new emojis for iPhone and iPad users to enjoy.

The iOS 9.1 is most loved for its introduction of brand new emojis (there are 150 of them) including a taco, a cheese wedge, a unicorn and finally, the middle finger, which is apparently what many users have been waiting to see and use on their device.

More than that, the update does a great job at stabilizing the handset's performance. The switch to iOS 9 was definitely rocky, with issues on freezes and lags and many more easily rising up. Thankfully, Apple fixes all that and even spruced things up a bit with the new software.

The iPhone maker did some tweaks on the three planetary wallpapers. Also, with the update, those with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will notice that Live Photos no longer records moments when a user raises or lowers the phone while taking the moving photo, thus giving them a better capture.

Another feature unique to the newest iPhones is the users' newfound ability to toggle contact photos on and off. Other than those spanking new features, iOS 9.1 has a slew of tweaks that eliminates the Calendar app's intermittent crashing and issues on Mail, the App Store and many others.

With the new update out and about, it also looks like Apple is setting its sights on iOS 9.2. In fact, the tech firm is already testing the software with Apple employees allegedly trying out the software as seen on 9to5mac's tracking chart.

Not much is known what the software in the works will take care of but it is expected that it will lay emphasis on on iPad Pro issues.
