Up until now, jailbreak fans are still idling away the hours for the release of the iOS 9.2 jailbreak, which Chinese hacking team TaiG is allegedly working on. Rumors about a new jailbreak software started after the team's affiliate 3K Assistant said it is coming soon.

"iOS 9.2 official version has been released from the past eight days, and in eight days, 3K Assistant has been working hard on jailbreaking iOS 9.2. The effort has finally been rewarded as after eight days of struggle, 3K Assistant has made a breakthrough on iOS 9.2 jailbreak," 3K Assistant then stated in a Weibo post last month via Valuewalk.

However, the post was allegedly removed and was replaced by the TaiG affiliate, which now claims that TaiG "has not [succeeded] yet" in making the iOS 9.2 jailbreak work. It then requested the users' patience and promised to keep them up to speed when a progress is made.

That being said, it looks like an iOS 9.2 jailbreak tool won't be showing up soon. What's still unclear is if 3K Assistant deliberately delivered false news or the team just encountered an issue during the development.

Either way, this is unfortunate for jailbreak-loving users considering that Apple has been moving so quickly when it comes to software updates. In fact, a new version of its latest firmware is already in beta testing and will be released in no time.

As for the iOS 9.2 jailbreak fans have been dying to see, it looks like TaiG's jailbreak solution hit a pretty big road block but 3K Assistant has offered no concrete clue as to how a jailbreak workaround for the iOS software is still out of reach.

For now, all users can ever do is wait for TaiG to make its magic. Perhaps other hacking teams like Pangu, which was able to put out a successful iOS 9.1 jailbreak, will take the lead.
