iOS 9 release date; Apple iPhone 4S to get iOS update

iOS 9 will bring better features to Apple devices. Apple Official

iOS 9 is expected to arrive this month and Apple fanatics are excited to know what the new OS could do for their devices.

Based on several reports, the iOS 9 update is said to bring significant improvements, which include better privacy features, improved display, and more efficient device performance.

It was also reported in Digital Trends that iOS 9 will bring a smarter and more proactive phone assistant Siri, and this feature will be called Proactive Siri.

According to the report, Siri will study the phone owner's everyday habits and formulate options that will suit the owner based on Siri's observations.

The battery life is also another aspect of the update that fans are really excited about. The battery feature is reportedly called "Low Power" mode and it makes the device detect if the phone is not in use and lying on a surface, so that it won't use up power to turn on the display, although the user can still be alerted by notifications.

Apple Maps will also undergo tweaking for iOS 9. It will offer the Transit feature for train, metro, and bus routes.

Tapping on the stations should provide the user different options to travel and make commuting or traveling more efficient.

Meanwhile, Apple's upcoming software update has been confirmed to be available in different iPhone and iPad models, including iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, which is definitely big news for users.

iPhone 4S in its current state is already a decent phone despite being an older phone model.

It's not unusual that some users would complain about performance issues, but with an iOS 9 update, users will be thrilled to know that the device's performance will be all the more optimized.

In a report from Gotta Be Mobile, iPhone 4S users will experience "faster scrolling, smoother animation, and better overall performance," thanks to the iOS 9's Apple Metal.

No official release date for iOS 9 has been announced as of yet, but with the upcoming Apple event on Sept. 9, it is expected that more details about the OS update will be revealed.
