=======

Apple's keynote media event for the iPhone 5s/6/5C will kick off at 10 a.m. PT/ 1 p.m. ET on September 10, 2013.

We are just minutes away from the unveiling of the brand new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5C/6 handsets, which will be announced by Apple CEO Tim Cook during Apple's keynote media event.

After months of rumors, Apple fans around the world will looking to Cupertino, Ca., to see what the tech giant has in show.

Apple will likely live stream the keynote media event today, which will showcase the launch of the new revamped  iPhone 5S/6/5C handsets. Although Apple has not officially announced a live stream yet, we predict that a live stream will be available via Safari-enabled Apple devices and through Apple TV, following Apple's decision to stream the WWDC 2013 event in June for the first time.

Before the WWDC 2013 in June kicked off, Apple announced an official live streaming for its keynote address using its industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Requirements for viewing were "Safari® on iOS 4.2 or later on any iPhone®, iPad®, iPad mini or iPod touch®; Safari 4 or later on Mac® OS X® v10.6 or later. Streaming via Apple TV® requires second or third generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later."

Apple still has not confirmed an official live stream the iPhone 5S/6/5C event but please check Apple's event page  for further updates.

Meanwhile, if Apple does not live stream the event, a live blog will be offered by CNET, Engadget, Gizmodo, and more.

What to expect

Fans will be tuning in to see the launch two new iPhones – dubbed the iPhone 5S, a refreshed version of the current iPhone 5 packed with a more powerful processor and better specs, and a budget iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 6 or 5C, which will pack medium-range specs, have plastic casing, and come in a variety of new colors.

iPhone 5S

The iPhone 5S is rumored to feature a fingerprint sensor, a 12 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and will come in a gold or champagne color variant for the first time. It is also expected to launch with the new dual core A7 processor, which will be speedier and smoother. The design is expected to be similar to that of the iPhone 5.

Expect prices to remain the same as usual for the three memory versions - $199, $299, $399.

iPhone 5C/6

Fans have been asking for a low-cost budget phone for years and now it seems that Apple finally stepped up to broaden its customer base. Along with the usual black and white color offerings from Apple, it is expected to launch in blue, yellow, and powder pink as well. Although according to Apple's media invitation last week, which says, "This should brighten everyone's day," the colorful dots also come in green, purple, orange , red and aqua as well. Does this mean that the iPhone 5C will come in more than 5 colors?

iPad 5 / iPad Mini 2

Apple launched its next generation iPad at a separate event from the iPhone 5 in 2012. The tech giant may follow tradition and launch it separately this year as well.

New Macbook Pro, Macbook Pro with Retina Display, iMac

During the WWDC event in June, the Macbook Air was launched with a revamped processor – Intel's fourth generation all new Haswell processor. The upgraded processor significantly improves battery life and speed. It also comes with 802.11ac Wifi, which is compatible with the all new Apple Time Capsule.

Noticeably absent were the refreshed line of Macbook Pros, Macbook Pro with Retina Display and iMacs. Rumors have been rife that the upgraded Macbook Pro notebooks and iMac will launch on Sept. 10. In the months leading up to this week's event, retailers such as MacMall and BestBuy have been offering discounts for the 2012 models, in order to clear their inventory to prepare for the new stock.

iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks

The new design of the new mobile operating system has been completely overhauled by the Cupertino-based company this year. The latest iOS has a brand new flat design with new icons and buttons, and features the all new air-drop. The first beta version was released at the WWDC in June, and six beta versions have followed since then. The last beta was released last month, and there has been no sign of a beta 7, meaning that the Gold Master version would be the latest version released to developers before it is officially released to the general public.

The iOS 7 is expected to roll out to iPhone owners first shortly after Apple's keynote event, with some reports stating that the upgrade for iPads will not be expected until at least October.

Apple's new computer hardware is expected to pack the all new OS X Mavericks, slated for a September/October release.
