Apple is reportedly readying for the launch of the newest iPhone in line with its 10th year anniversary.

Ten years ago, Steve Jobs launched the first iPhone in the market. According to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter revealed that Apple is gearing up for the launch of three iPhones this fall, including upgrades of the two current iPhone models and a new top-of-the-line device with a redesigned look, in line with its 10th year anniversary.

According to the source, the upgrades will continue to use the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) screen similar to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. On the other hand, Apple is looking into putting an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display screen for the overhauled model so that the device can reflect its colors more accurately.

In addition, the source also reveals that Apple is currently testing a new type of screen that will give the new iPhone model a look that covers most of the front portion of the device. Apple may also incorporate the home button at the screen itself, similar to what Samsung did, so that it can reduce the size of the smartphone. Aside from these, Apple is also experimenting with the option of integrating the fingerprint scanner to the OLED screen of the overhauled iPhone variant.

At the moment, Apple is reportedly working on several prototypes in order to assess which design is going to be the best for the upcoming iPhone, as well as which raw materials can be supplied in large quantities by their suppliers.

Meanwhile, Andy Hargreaves, Equity Research Analyst at Pacific Crest Securities, said that Apple may need to do away with the TouchID feature in the upcoming iPhone if it cannot resolve the issue with integrating it in the screen. Another option is to delay this model until it is ready for production.

Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone lines in September.
