The Apple Watch will be one of the biggest products in 2015, T-Mobile CEO predicted.

John Legere, the top man at T-Mobile, fearlessly predicted that the first wearable device from the Cupertino-based company will pave the way to a bigger market for smartwatches. He also said that the huge smartwatch niche will be seen in the next few years. 

"And though we won't see its full impact in 2015, I believe that the Apple Watch will mark the tipping point when wearables go from niche to mainstream," he said.

Although Apple is still mum about the actual release date of their first product that gears towards the wearable device market, some predictions claim that the Apple Watch will be released in the first few months of 2015.

The Apple Watch was first announced during the Cupertino tech giant's media launch back in September, alongside the hugely successful iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones. Yet there is limited information given about this new product from Apple. 

The design of the technologically-advanced timepiece is said to be on the chic, more elegant side compared to other releases. Reports claim that the Apple Watch focuses on luxury without sacrificing function. It also has several finishing options to choose from, such as aluminum, stainless-steel, as well as 18-carat gold. The bands are interchangeable as well. 

Aside from his fearless forecast for Apple's first wearable device, Legere also claimed that phone-tablet hybrids will still be dominant this year.

"At the same time, phablet sales will continue to sky rocket – up at least 50 per cent. This will have a couple of important side effects. First, phablets will continue to cannibalise the tablet market, and second, the rise of phablets – which are made for data hounds – will continue to fuel the exponential growth in mobile data use. And, of course, T-Mobile customers – who use the most data – will continue to lead the pack in mobile data use," the T-Mobile CEO predicted.
