Trouble could be brewing over the production of the upcoming "Aquaman" movie, if rumors turn out to be accurate.

A report from Birth.Movies.Death claimed that director James Wan is contemplating leaving the upcoming Warner Bros.-DC Entertainment film. According to the report, Wan feels a lot of anxiety in making "Aquaman" since he just went through a difficult process directing "Fast 7." He also has two Warner Bros. film that will come out in summer, "Conjuring 2" and "Lights Out." This means that he could earn a lot of money even without making the DC Comics-inspired movie.

If Wan vacates the director's chair in "Aquaman," he will be the second filmmaker who has begged out of the DC Cinematic Universe project, after Seth Grahame-Smith left "The Flash" on Friday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the author-screenwriter decided to abandon the project because of "creative differences" with the movie outfit.

Wan's possible departure from the "Aquaman" film could hurt the movie, since the filmmaker already has a loyal fan with "Insidious" and "Saw." His popularity also skyrocketed when he directed "Furious 7" and "Annabell."

Rumors about trouble within the DC Cinematic Universe said that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder is feeling the pressure for the success of the upcoming "Justice League" movies due to the disappointing box office results of "Dawn of Justice." According to reports, Snyder and his team had multiple disagreements with the executives from Warner Bros. due to the development of his upcoming "Justice League" movies.

"Aquaman" is slated to premiere in 2018. It stars "Conan" actor Jason Momoa in the titular role and Amber Heard as Mera. The script for the film was written by Kurt Johnstad under the supervision of Wan.
