Archaeological Dig, Aberdeen

What: Archaeological Dig, Aberdeen
When: Mondays and Fridays 12 - 3pm, until the end of April 2007, with the exception of the 10th April and 14th April when services will be taking place in the church.
Where: Kirk of St Nicholas Uniting, Union Street, Aberdeen
How much?: free, although donations are welcome to cover the huge costs carried by the church to undertake the dig.

The Kirk of St Nicholas is arguably the most important and undervalued building in the royal burgh of Aberdeen. The present structure is mainly of 18th and 19th century date, but incorporates portions of the 12th century church and stands on the site of the 15th century building, which was oneof the largest and most prestigious burgh churches in Scotland.

Take part in an archaeological exploration and talks on the dig by members of the team accompanied by a cup of fairly traded tea or coffee (donations for refreshments are welcomed).

All proceeds go to the development fund.
