Singer-actress Ariana Grande is taking responsibility for her actions as she posted a video on Youtube, apologizing to her fans for what she and her friends did at a donut shop where she was caught on camera saying, "I hate America," and appearing to lick some donuts that were on display.

In a four-minute long, black and white video posted on Thursday, July 9, the singer began by saying that she wanted to make a video to apologize for the "donut fiasco."

"I feel like the apology I posted, I kind of missed the opportunity to sincerely apologize and express how I was feeling because I was too busy preaching about my issues with the food industry which is like, not relative," she said.

She went on to address her comment in the donut shop about hating America as she explained that she has never been prouder to be an American. She added that seeing a video of herself behaving badly was such a "rude awakening" for her.

"I was so disgusted with myself, I like wanted to shove my face into a pillow and like disappear, but instead of that I'm going to come forward and own up to what I did," said the "Problem" singer.

She added that seeing what she did on video made her resolve not to behave in such a way again and that she never wants to be anything less than a positive influence.

"I'm 22, I'm human, I still got a lot to learn, I make mistakes and that's how I'm gonna learn… I'm very sorry and I love you," Grande said.

The pop star landed in hot water earlier this week when a CCTV footage from Wolfee Donuts showed Grande and Ricky Alvarez, her backup dancer and rumored love interest, licking donuts that were on display at the donut shop in Lake Elsinore, California.

The footage, which was reportedly recorded over the weekend, shows the pair kissing at one point and when a fresh batch of donuts were placed on the counter, the singer is heard saying, "What the [expletive] is that? I hate Americans. I hate America."

An account of the incident came from the cashier on duty at the donut shop, who claimed that the singer did not purchase any of the donuts she licked and she also told the Associated Press that Grande was "really rude."

In an Instagram post, Grande explained her comments and said that they were taken out of context. She added that she was "an advocate for healthy eating" and points out that the U.S. has one of the highest rates of child obesity in the world.

Police are now investigating the leaked video, and the donut shop is reportedly being investigated as well for possible health code violations.
