Ariana Grande and Big Sean dating news: Singer tired of being called Big Sean's ex

It has been two months since Ariana Grande and Big Sean broke up after eight months of dating, and since then, the "Problem" singer has been linked to former boyfriend Nathan Sykes of The Wanted who she dated in 2013, and One Direction's Niall Horan. Now, Grande is firing back as she posted a full-page essay on her Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts telling people to stop defining her by her relationships.

She started off by reminding people that having something to say is not the same as having a bad attitude.

"What I meant when I said what I said about not being Sean's ex is that I am tired of living in a world where woman are mostly referred to as a man's past, present, or future PROPERTY/ POSSESSION," she wrote. "I…do not. Belong. To anyone. But myself. And neither do you."

The former Nickelodeon star quoted feminist icon Gloria Steinem and pointed out the double standards on how men and women are treated, saying that if a man has sexual relations and talks or raps about it, he is praised for it, but if a woman does the same thing, she is reviled.

Grande broke up with Big Sean in April, and at the time, it was widely speculated that she ended the relationship because she felt disrespected by his song "Stay Down" and that she reportedly felt that he was objectifying her.

Grande's essay came after the singer gave an interview to The Sun in London in which she lashed out at the rumors that she was dating Horan. The singer told the British newspaper that it is possible for a girl to be friends with a boy and not sleep with him.

"I'm tired of being linked to a guy. I'm not Big Sean's ex. I'm not Niall's new possible girl. I'm Ariana Grande," she said.
