The DC universe is about to get even bigger in "Arrow" season 4 with Vixen officially joining the fray. Megalyn Echikunwoke is gracing the hit CW series to play the role of the superhero, whom the actress also voices in the animated CW Seed series named after the character.

Echikunwoke is expected to debut as Vixen, who harnesses her extraordinary powers from the animal kingdom, in episode 15 of the season. Vixen's alter ego is named Mari McCabe and she can basically mimic any type of animal and use their abilities, thanks to a mystical totem she inherited.

"We're not only thrilled to be further expanding our DC television universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of the CW Seed hit, Vixen, we're immensely excited that Megalyn will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe," Marc Guggenheim, executive producer of "Arrow" told TV Insider.

It is still unclear what will bring the African superhero to Star City but fans of the series and comic books are nonetheless wound up to see another character from the DC Comics universe get a live-action counterpart.

Meanwhile, rumor has it that Vixen won't be the only character expanding the comic book universe in "Arrow" season 4. There is a theory going around that Felicity, whose fate remains unclear following the shocking events in the midseason finale, will become the Oracle soon.

In the comics (specifically in the Batman universe), Oracle is Barbara Gordon's hacker identity, which she went with after The Joker paralyzed her from the waist down. It is being said that Felicity will suffer the same fate when "Arrow" season 4 returns.

While some viewers believe that Oliver's fiancée is as good as dead, others believe that the show has prepared a superhero-y future for the character by transforming her into Oracle. The character's hacking prowess and current situation in the series hint that the show is going down this road.

Guggenheim has once hinted that Felicity is getting a codename in the future and it may very well end up being Oracle. Whether or not this will be the case, fans will know soon when "Arrow" season 4 returns Jan. 20 with an episode called "Blood Debts."
