'Arrow' season 3 spoilers: Sara Lance and Deathstroke to return and Thea's bad side to be unleashed in new season

"Arrow" Season 3 is getting closer and the excitement just keeps building up, especially with all the spoilers flying around for the new season.  The buzz is, Deathstroke and Sara Lance will return, and Thea will change for the worse. How true are all these?

The first episode of the season is entitled "The Calm." According to the synopsis, Startling City will enjoy a very low crime rate and this makes Oliver Queen have more time on his hands for his personal life.  So he invites Felicity on a date, but while things seem okay in the city, a new villain emerges. The villain is Vertigo and will be played by Peter Stormare. As for Felicity, she will get a part-time job and Diggle will be busy with fatherhood.

Aside from fighting crime, Oliver will try to get his company back from Isabel Rochev. Oliver lost tons of money because of this, but the road to getting Queen Consolidated back is a tough one. Ray Palmer emerges as Oli's opponent for the company.

Going back to Sara Lance, Deathstroke, and Thea Queen – "Arrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed their return in Season 3 as well as their story arc.

According to ComicBook.com, Guggenheim talked about Sara's return in Season 3, saying, "We've made a deal for three episodes but at current count, we're going to have her in for five, at least. Obviously with all of our recurring cast members, we always have to work around their schedules but we love Caity. We have really cool plans for her."

Guggenheim also talked about the return of Deathstroke or Slade Wilson. "Obviously we didn't kill him off at the end of Season Two and it's just a matter of syncing up our schedule and his schedule and our creative timeline with his schedule, so we'd love to have him back on the show," he said.

Thea, on the other hand, will undergo some changes. Guggenheim said, "Thea's going to be going through some changes because of her association with Malcolm Merlyn." He was referring to the changes that brings out her "ass-kicking" side.

"Arrow" Season 3 will premiere on Oct. 8 on The CW.
