'Arrow' season 4 plot rumors: New photo shows Oliver and Felicity's happiness because of their new relationship

The dark cloud hanging over the main character of "Arrow" has finally been lifted.

Loyal fans of the show know that Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) lost a loved one in the finale of the first two seasons, but in season 3, his fate changed when he found himself deeply in love with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickard). The two decided to leave the chaos behind to spend some quality time together in a romantic getaway.

The latest photo that was released by TV Insider shows that the new couple is happily in love and in a very good place in their relationship. This is in line with what series showruner Marc Guggenheim said that they are planning to introduce a "lighter tone" in the upcoming season of "Arrow" since the series had been stuck in a "dark" mood since the show's sophomore season.

But aside from the intensifying relationship between Oliver and Felicity, the fourth season premiere will have a very strong start that can shake the happy mood of the couple. According to early spoilers, Felicity's mom Donna (Charlotte Ross) will resurface this season, as well as Oliver's former love interest Sara Lance/ White Canary (Caity Lotz). Their return to Starling City could have an effect on both Oliver and Felicity.

Also, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and his group called the H.I.V.E. will pose a threat to Starling City as he stages revenge for having been kicked out of the League of Assassins.

Meanwhile, Guggenheim exclusively showed The Entertainment Weekly the new lair of Team Arrow in Starling City that will be showcased in season 4.

"One of the fun things about this lair is that as opposed to one big space, where everyone would congregate, it's now a much larger space divided up into smaller spaces," Guggenheim explained. "There is an area for Felicity to work, there is an area for Oliver to work out, and there is a garage. There are many different places we'll continue to discover over the course of the season that give you a sense that this thing is a bit bigger than we got used to in the first three years."

"Arrow" season 4 is slated to premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 7, on The CW.
