'Arrow' season 4 cast: Constantine to appear

When NBC cancelled "Constantine" after its first season, fans of the DC Comics character from "Hellblazer" were saddened to find out that Matt Ryan will no longer return as the popular demon hunter.

But is it really the end for John Constantine?

Back in August, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Ryan will still be reprising his role as the defender of humanity against the dark forces. But this time, he will do so as a guest character on The CW superhero drama "Arrow," starring Stephen Amell.

A statement released by "Arrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim read:

"We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow. Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired."

Guggenheim also added, "It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series."

Before news about Ryan's appearance of "Arrow" season 4, reports claimed that Amell also had several discussions with DC Entertainment to bring his character Oliver Queen/Green Arrow to "Constantine." But the talks did not push through because the series was cancelled by NBC.

Now recent reports revealed that Ryan's Constantine will appear on "Arrow" season 4 episode 5 titled "Haunted." He will allegedly offer his services to Oliver to help bring Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) back in her old self after receiving the Lazarus Pit from Ra's al Ghul (Matthew Nable).

The official synopsis for the episode where Constantine will appear reads:

"When things take a turn for the worse with Sara, Oliver calls in a favor from an old friend who deals in the mystical, John Constantine."

The "Arrow" episode will air on Wednesday, Nov. 4, on The CW.
