'Arrow' season 4 spoilers: Diggle and Oliver still not in good terms

There is no reconciliation yet for Diggle and Oliver when "Arrow" returns Oct. 7 on The CW.Facebook/The CW

Diggle (David Ramsey) is not yet ready to forgive Oliver (Stephen Amell) in the upcoming season of CW's superhero series "Arrow."

Producer Wendy Mericle recently told Collider that the conflict between the two would still be evident, as Diggle was unable to forget what his friend did back in season 3. Viewers will remember that on his attempt to take down Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable), Ollie decided to kidnap Diggle's wife Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson). The plan was to trade her for Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), who had allied herself with Team Arrow against her father.

Although the kidnapping was justified at the end, Diggle would apparently have a hard time accepting the fact that Ollie put Lyla's life in danger. The fact that his friend did not include him on the plan made it all the more difficult to swallow.

"Dig has a huge bone to pick with Oliver when they see each other again. It's not gonna be easy. With what happened to Dig's family, it's really tough to buy that back, and Oliver is not gonna to be able to," the producer said.

Fans should not worry, however, as Mericle also hinted that although it would take quite some time for the reconciliation to happen, it would take place.

Mericle said, "Obviously, they can't be mad at each other forever, or what are we doing?"

On a different note, she confirmed that Dig would be the one to take charge of Team Arrow in Oliver and Felicity's (Emily Bett Rickards) absence. If viewers can still remember, it was Dig whom Ollie invited to be the first member of the group.

Mericle also teased that when the couple returned after their short break, they would find an entirely different Team Arrow. Aside from Dig, the rest of the gang would also harbor negative feelings towards them. Perhaps this was due to their sudden absence from the group, where they were left to fend for themselves.

Meanwhile, as the pseudo-leader of Team Arrow, Diggle will reportedly be getting a costume and a code name to boot. During the Television Critics Association Press Tour, Mericle said that Dig would have "a fun, cool, code name." Movie Pilot also reports that he will start to embrace the "dual identity conundrum" for season 4.

"Arrow" is set to return on Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
