'Arrow' season 4B spoilers: Lazarus Pit to resurrect Felicity

Will Oliver use to Lazarus Pit to save Felicity in "Arrow" season 4B?Facebook/CW

When the midseason finale ended with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) being rushed to the hospital after sustaining wounds from the HIVE's surprise attack, viewers fear that it could be the end of the road for Olicity in The CW series "Arrow."

Oliver's (Stephen Amell) quest to take down Darhk (Neal McDonough) backfired when the villain decided to retaliate by hitting him where it would hurt the most. He targeted the mayoral candidate's friends, especially Felicity. The two just came from the holiday party they hosted. Fresh from accepting Oliver's proposal, Felicity was over the moon that her boyfriend was serious enough to put a ring on her finger. Unfortunately, their happiness was cut short when Darhk sent the Ghosts to ambush the limo they were riding in.

The Green Arrow managed to escape unscathed, but not Felicity. She was unconscious and fans feared the worst as the next scene showed him breaking down while following his new fiancée's gurney to the hospital. The promo for the next episode certainly did not help, as Team Arrow could be seen looking down at a grave. Oliver is choked with grief and it looks like he lost someone he dearly loves. Whether it is Felicity in there or not, it is certain that an important character will die when the series returns for its season 4B in January.

Meanwhile, Realty Today posits that Felicity will end up dying from her wounds, but Oliver will use the Lazarus Pit to resurrect her. Although viewers saw Nyssa (Katrina Law) cast a spell to render the Pit useless, it remains unsure whether it will last long. The fact that Law's character will be returning in the show may mean that the magical cask of water has once again been used to heal someone. If Oliver does use the water for his fiancée's wounds, Felicity could also show signs of the thirst to kill, just like the others who have returned from the dead through it.

For now, the series executive producers refuse to comment if Felicity is indeed the one in the grave. TV Line reports that Wendy Mericle claimed during a press screening that they still do not know who it is at the moment.

"We don't necessarily know who it is right now. We're still figuring the plan out for the season, but we want it, obviously, to have resonance. If it doesn't mean something to the characters, it won't mean anything to the audience either," she said.

"Arrow" will return on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
