The history of Oliver Queen's Bratva tattoo will be explained when "Arrow" returns for season 5.

Speaking at Wizard World in Philadelphia via Comic Book.com, actor Stephen Amell confirmed that season 5 will shed light on his character's past in Russia through the flashback scenes in the upcoming season. This will finally tie up the timeline of the flashbacks featured in season 1.

While the actor claimed that he still has no idea about where the story is heading next season, Amell revealed that he will soon have to talk to the writers to find out their plans for the show.

"Typically by now, I would have gone to the writers' room and we would have had long, lengthy discussions about the upcoming season, but i wrapped Arrow, I had a really nice end-of-season dinner with Greg Berlanti, which is what we always do," Amell said. "We chatted about the good, the bad, the ugly, what's coming, what's happened, et cetera, et cetera. But we had that, and I literally haven't been home since the beginning of May."

Since the Bratva arc will be featured in season 5, it could mean that Anatoli Knyazev (David Nykl) will return in the series.

Amell also revealed in an interview with Variety that the Green Arrow will face a new villain in season 5.

"I've heard that our big bad, our villain, is something that you can really only do once you're in the fifth, sixth or seventh season of a TV show," the actor said.

But unlike the previous enemies, Amell said that the upcoming big bad will have a unique trait. "As far as I know, they don't have superpowers. I'll tell you that."

While the network has yet to announce who the new enemy is, "Arrow" season 5 is expected to return to The CW sometime this fall.
