'Arrow' season 5 spoilers: show will be getting a new vigilante

Oliver Queen aka the Green ArrowThe CW

"Arrow" season 4 ended with Team Arrow being split apart as the members all began going their separate ways, but season 5 will be introducing someone new into the team. According to a report from TVLine, a brand-new vigilante will be introduced in the season and it may be quite different from the heroes shown in the series thus far.

According to the report, the new character is revealed to be a "cocksure/reckless ex-Marine turned vigilante." Unfortunately, the exact nature of this character has yet to be explained. It may be a male or female vigilante played by a new cast member or it may be portrayed by someone from previous seasons of the show.

However, as stated in a report from Screen Rant, the ending of "The Flash" season 2 may completely alter how this new character is introduced. With Barry Allen aka The Flash (Grant Gustin) altering the past, it is possible that this new vigilante is someone from Team Arrow but now with a new identity given that time and history has been altered.

Many fans speculate that this vigilante could be an alternate version of Diggle (David Ramsey). Fans also speculate that it may be Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) who never became a lawyer and ended up as a vigilante after Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and her sister were supposed dead when the Gambit sank.

The CW has yet to release official information regarding this new vigilante's identity and if he or she is based on any comic book character established in the "Green Arrow" comic book series. Some fans even speculate that this new vigilante may be Richard "Dick" Grayson aka Nightwing given that the city of Bludhaven has been teased multiple times on the show.

"Arrow" season 5 will premiere this fall, although a specific release date has yet to be announced by the CW
