Two clubs in the top 10 of the English Premier League table will try to improve their standings when Arsenal play as hosts to Tottenham Hotspur today, Sunday, at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are coming to the match losing in two of their past three matches, with the most recent setback a 5–1 defeat suffered to Bayern Munich in the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League.

But the Gunners have won in their last Premier League match beating Swansea City 3–0 to take the number two spot in the table with 25 points, tied with league-leading Manchester City and third-placed Leicester City.

In a report by BBC Sport, Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger expressed worries regarding his depleted lineup due to injuries.

Wenger also spoke about the loss to Bayern but remained positive, saying, according to the report, "It was a disappointing result on Wednesday, but before that we did extremely well in the Premier League so we will try to continue from one competition from the other."

A win is huge for Arsenal as it will give them 28 points which will break the triple-tie they are currently in and may hand them the lead in the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, if the Gunners are recently struggling, Tottenham are thriving riding a three-match winning streak, with two of those victories in the Premier League.

Wins included in the streak are against Bournemouth (5–1) and Aston Villa (3–1) in the Premier League, and Anderlecht (2–1) in the UEFA Europa League Group stage.

Currently, the Spurs are sixth in the Premier League table with 20 points, tied with seventh-placed Southampton.

A road victory against Arsenal today will be big for Tottenham as it can break them into the top five clubs in the table with 23 points.
