Since the next season is slated for premiere later this year, "Ash vs. Evil Dead" graced Starz' panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, with major details in tow.

One of the major showcases for the upcoming season is that Lee Majors has made his first Comic-Con appearance, together with some of the crew. Majors is revealed to play the father of Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), the one-handed chainsaw man and main protagonist of the show.

Campbell, also present at the Starz panel, hinted that some more gory scenes and events are in store for fans in season 2 of "Ash vs. Evil Dead." When asked by the creative team decided to continue the story on TV instead of going back to the big screen, Campbell teased that fans will get to enjoy the TV version more, since it will show "unrestricted content and to have as few restrictions as possible."

Co-creator Sam Raimi agrees, and added that, "Starz wanted to provide something that couldn't be found anywhere else. And we're on cable, and wanted it to be a unique experience. The intensity of the second season pushes in that direction."

Meanwhile, there are also other spoilers for the show's second season. Campbell confirmed to IGN that one of the confirmed characters for season 2 is Cheryl Williams, the sister of the main protagonist seen on the original "The Evil Dead" adaptation. The character will again be played by Ellen Sandweiss, who portrayed Cheryl in the original 1981 film. Executive producer Rob Tapert teased, "Ash's sister makes a tiny little guest appearance, causes a little commotion."

Season 2 for "Ash vs. Evil Dead" picks up right after the original season, with Ash leaving Jacksonville and returning to his hometown, Elk Grove. The show returns on Starz later this year.
