This information was originally leaked on a Reddit thread, along with an image that shows a man on a boat with a shield, a quiver of arrows, and a bow on his back. The last time that players were able to pilot boats in the game series was in "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag," which was released in 2013. It is unknown yet at what level players will be able to maneuver water vessels in the game, but some are theorizing that "Assassin's Creed: Origins" will feature naval warfare.

Kotaku has previously stated that the game will be set in Egypt, which the leaked image has seemingly confirmed. The main objective of the game will be to "assassinate the crocodile," while the current goal is to "follow Shadya to Khenut's Villa." According to Polygon, Khenut was an Egyptian Queen during the Fifth Dynasty, which ran from 2494 B.C. to 2345 B.C.

WWG reports that "Assassin's Creed: Origins" will feature open-world gameplay and two main characters: a man and a woman. One of the publication's sources liken the game to "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," which is known for its non-linear gameplay. The article also notes that while the main setting will be in Egypt, it is possible that players can explore other places beyond that, such as Greece.

Eurogamer tried to reach out to Ubisoft to seek confirmation. However, the company declined to give a comment, with a representative saying, "We won't be making a comment on any rumours or speculations." In any case, Ubisoft will probably make an announcement about the game during the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
