The latest downloadable content (DLC) for "Assassin's Creed Origins" titled "The Curse of the Pharaohs" is now available for personal computer (PC), PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One.

According to the Steam page of the game, players take on the role of Bayek in the game's third major expansion. He will be tasked to go to the city of Thebes to search for an artifact. However, he discovered upon arriving that he will not be dueling with the Order of the Ancients — instead, he has to combat the undead pharaohs who came to kill civilians. The reason behind their sudden physical manifestation was that of what is locally known as The Pharaoh's Curse that resulted from grave robbers who had mercilessly stripped the ancient kings' tombs for antiques. Bayek must then hunt down the key artifacts for each undead pharaohs in order to put them back to their eternal slumber.

Ubisoft explains that the DLC lets players explore a new region — the city of Thebes where they will find the temples of Karnak and Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, Aswan and Oasis, where the pharaohs' tombs were mercilessly plundered. Players will also encounter Egyptian mythical creatures the likes of which they have never seen before such as Anubis-like guards that patrol the lands and camel-sized scorpions.

As mentioned earlier, Bayek will be fighting the physical manifestations of pharaohs called the Shadows of the Pharaohs. They are considered as time-limited bosses that Bayek must defeat before they decide to return to where they came from on their own. Bayek will have to face them in the afterlife, the final step in putting them to rest, where they will become powerful enough to give fatal damages to Bayek with one or two special attacks. To be able to combat them, Ubisoft explains Bayek's level cap has been raised to 55. He will also be equipped with new seven abilities that he can unlock.

"The Curse of the Pharaohs" is included in the Season Pass for "Assassin's Creed Origins." Players can also avail it separately for $19.99.
