After its release on Oct. 27, the action-adventure video game "Assassin's Creed: Origins" has become an instant hit among players. The "Origins" edition has already surpassed "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" in sales.

Ubisoft announced that sales of "Origins" during the first 10-day period had double the sales of "Syndicate" in 2015. According to Ubisoft's press release, the earnings of its recent releases has boosted the company for further growth in the coming fiscal years for both shareholder value and financial performance.

"Assassin's Creed: Origins" was well received by gamers and critics. It is also doing much better compared to "Syndicate" in terms of reviews.

According to IGN's review, the game managed to replicate the culture of ancient Egypt and the gameplay is well executed. "Origins" introduced a new way of looting and bosses' battles are uniquely designed. The weapons and enemy variety of the game was also commended for being extensive.

"Assassin's Creed: Origins" received a 9 out of 10 from IGN and has an 80 percent rating on Metacritic. "Syndicate" received an 8.2 score from IGN and has a 76 percent on Metacritic.

Many video game critics noted that "Origins" introduced a whole new standard for the franchise. TrustedReviews indicated that the game successfully maximizes its graphic elements with stunning visuals and a vast setting. However, one downside of the game is the difficulty level being too easy on some stages.

According to gamers and critics, "Assassin's Creed: Origins'" storyline is broad and consistent. The plot of the game revolves around a Medjay named Bayek and his lover Aya. "Origins" features not only an Egyptian empire led by the Pharaoh, Ptolemy XIII, but also Julius Caesar's Roman Republic. Bayek and Aya's mission is to stop the downfall of their kingdom and protect their people then ultimately be recognized as the first Assassins.

The game is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows PC.
