For those planning to setup a gaming rig, one can consider pairing up the latest from ASUS, the ROG STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING GPU with the ROG STRIX X99 Gaming motherboard.

Asus has turned NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080 into an ROG Strix version with their STRIX-GTX1080-O8G. It offers almost the same hardware specification as the original one -- 8GB GDDR5X, 2560 CUDA Core and256-bit memory interface -- but with some nice toppings, such as enhanced clock speeds, output interface and an Aura RGB Lighting.

As previously reported, the GTX1080-O8G clock settings come in two modes: gaming, which gives a base speed of 1759 MHz and a boosted speed of 1898, and OC (Over Clock) mode, which gives a 1784 MHz base speed and boosted to 1936 MHz.

Gamers with VR headsets like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive can plug their device to either of the two HDMI ports. It also includes two DispalPorts and a single DVI out. No need to worry for those using HDMI displays.

Additionally, the Aura RGB Lighting offers visual pleasures for those who just want to stand back and appreciate the hardware piece. This feature comes with six pre-programmed lighting effects.
