ASUS ZenFone 2 to launch in three variants with different screen size

Taiwanese company ASUS recently announced the availability of its new smartphone and tablet devices this year. One of these devices is the ZenFone 2 Laser smartphone, which is expected to be available in three different variants, depending primarily on the display screen size.

One of these versions will sport a 5.0-inch display screen, while the second version will have a larger 6.0-inch screen. The third model, on the other hand, is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display screen, according to a press release by ASUS.

The 5.0-inch model is anticipated to come with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and the 6.0-inch variant will have a 1080 x 1920 resolution. All versions will be protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and will run on the new Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system (OS).

According to GSM Arena, it's unclear what processor the 6.0-inch model will have, but for the 5.0-inch device, it is expected to pack a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 processor. In addition, the 5.0-inch version will have 2GB RAM and up to 16GB built-in memory storage. The 6.0-inch one will have an upgraded 3GB RAM.

Both 5.0-inch and 6.0-inch models are expected to have the same 13-megapixel cameras on the back and 5-megapixel cameras on the front.

For the battery, the first version will be powered by a 2,400 mAh battery, according to GSM Arena. As for the second variant, it remains unclear what battery size it will use.

Other products already out and available in the market is the ASUS ZenPad tablet. This device is available in two variants. One of these sports a 7-inch display screen, while the other features a larger 8-inch screen.

Also, the ZenFone Max has been announced by the Taiwanese company, and is expected to come out sometime this September, according to recent reports.
