Asus ZenFone 3 release date: Flagship reportedly launches July 12

Asus

Previous reports have said that the new flagship lineup from Asus will launch as early as August. However, it seems that the new ZenFone 3 lineup will be released earlier than expected, as reports suggest that the new iterations will be out on the market by July 12.

According to Phone Arena, it is already confirmed that the three new models under the new lineup will be launched on sale on July 12 in Taiwan, and Asus has reportedly pegged the date as the official release date for the ZenFone 3. However, it is still unclear if the July 12 launch will be a simultaneous release for the global market, or if the ZenFone 3 will have a staggered roll out starting next week.

A mix of above-average and top-tier specs on budget-friendly price tags is one of the strengths of the ZenFone lineup, and Asus has once again made it the top selling point for the ZenFone 3. The base model for the new flagship is priced at $249m while the above-average, mid-range Ultra version has a price tag of $479. Meanwhile, the top-tier ZenFone 3 Deluxe has a $499 price tag.

Meanwhile, although the three ZenFone 3 models will be out by next week, Asus will reportedly keep on adding new versions to the lineup. Speculations say that a step-down, entry-level ZenFone 3 is already in the works, and may come out soon since it has already been spotted in benchmark websites. Previous reports have claimed that another ZenFone 3 Deluxe variant, with a step-up Snapdragon 821 processor, will also be released by Asus for some regions.

Although Asus has yet to confirm the details, an expanded lineup for the ZenFone 3 is certainly possible, since Asus has also done it in the past, most recently in the previous ZenFone 2 lineup. There are new models in the previous-gen iterations such as the Selfie and Laser editions.
