Taiwanese tech company Asus recently unveiled the new Zenfone Selfie smartphone at the Computex 2015 event held in Taipei, Taiwan.

The move comes after the Taiwanese company had recently launched the Zenfone 2 smartphone device in the U.S.

The new Asus Zenfone Selfie smartphone runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and is powered by Qualcomm's 64 bit octa core Snapdragon 615 chipset.

As the name points out, the new Zenfone Selfie offers a powerful 13 mega pixel front-facing camera, which is suitable for users that want to capture sharper selfies. Like the Zenfone 2, the phone uses a 13 mega pixel rear camera with a laser autofocus feature. It has a 5.5 inch 1080 x 1920 resolution display screen and comes with a 3000mAh battery.

Both cameras are accompanied by two LED flashes (dual-LED Flash). Users can easily take selfies just by drawing an "S" shaped figure on the display screen.

The new smartphone offers users 2GB worth of RAM and 16GB of internal storage memory. Users can expand the internal storage up to 64GB using a microSD card.

Other features of the phone include the Beautification mode and the Panorama mode. With the Beautification mode, users can brighten their skin tone in images, according to Asus. With the Panorama mode, users can capture "panoramic selfies" of up to 140 degrees.

The Asus Zenfone Selfie is very similar to the newly released Zenfone 2 smartphone, except of course to the 13 mega pixel front-facing camera.

In addition to the Zenfone Selfie, Asus recently announced the roll out of its latest wearble device, the ZenWatch 2. The ZenWatch 2 is said to come in two different sizes and three different colors.

The Taiwanese tech firm, which is the world's fifth largest PC maker, also revealed a new large and curvy gaming monitor at the recent Computex event. The new gaming monitor has a 34 inch curved wide screen with 3440 x 1440 resolution.
