Earlier this year, Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus unveiled its new Asus ZenFone Selfie which is expected to be released initially in the Indian market.

The ZenFone Selfie is expected to be released in India alongside the ZenFone 2 Laser and other models, according to a recent press release by Asus.

Also, Japanese giant Sony Corporation recently unveiled its own new selfie-centric smartphone, called the Sony Xperia M5. This new phone is expected to come out this month, according to recent reports.

Here's the difference between the two new selfie smartphones in terms of the specifications and features.

Earlier, it was revealed that the ZenFone Selfie will sport a 5.5-inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, and an oleophobic coating. On the other hand, Sony's Xperia M5 will have a smaller 5.0-inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution as well and will be protected by a scratch resistant glass, according to GSM Arena.

Inside, the ZenFone Selfie is anticipated to pack a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB RAM, and 16GB built-in memory storage. In addition, the ZenFone Selfie will have another version available that will offer 3GB RAM and up to 32GB memory. The Xperia M5, on the other hand, will be powered by Mediatek MT6795 processor and will have 3GB RAM and up to 16GB internal memory, according to recent reports.

Both phones are expected to run on the new Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system (OS).

For the cameras, it was revealed that the Asus ZenFone Selfie will have 13-megapixel cameras on both sides, as well as dual LED flash capability on its front camera. Meanwhile, the Xperia M5 will boast of a very high 21.5-megapixel camera on the back and a 13-megapixel camera on the front. Both phones will feature autofocus capabilities on their front cameras.
