Asus ZenFone news: ZenFone 2 Deluxe, ZenFone Selfie launched at Asus ZenFest

Taiwan-based Asus launched its Zen Festival in India, officially introducing a number of new smartphones and tablets in its lineup. The exclusive event, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, was presided by Asus chairman Jonney Shih.

Most noted among the new Asus products is the ZenFone 2 Deluxe, with its diamond cut-back panel that adds premium looks and design to the already-formidable ZenFone 2 specs. In addition, the Deluxe also features proprietary Asus BoostMaster fast charge technology. This option cuts charging times for the phone, fast-charging the Deluxe by more than half its battery capacity in just 39 minutes. 

For the heavy smartphone user, Asus introduced the ZenFone Max, with its 5.5-inch IPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, and 2 GB of RAM. The ZenFone Max also features 13- and 5-MP PixelMaster cameras with laser auto-focus. 

However, the highlight of the new ZenFone Max is its usage durability. The Max packs a 5000 mAh battery, good for heavy, multi-tasking users. 

Meanwhile, Asus has also released its own version of the Selfie phone. The ZenFone Selfie has two 13 MP PixelMaster cameras. The shooters themselves both have dual-LED Real Tone flash and laser auto-focus for ultra-clear shots. In addition, the front camera has a specialized 88-degree wide-angle lens. This means that every selfie shot can capture everything and everyone within 140 degrees, especially with the Panorama mode turned on. 

The other new ZenFone product unveiled during the Festival were the Zenfone 2 Laser, and two new ZenPad products – the ZenPad 7.0 and 8.0. The two tablets feature Asus' own interchangeable functional back covers, such as the Audio and Power Case covers. The Audio back cover, when used, connects the tablets to 5.1-channel surround sound speakers. Meanwhile, the Power Case cover greatly extends the ZenPad's battery life for up to 16 hours of usage.
