Asus ZenPad S 8.0 specs and features; tablet has powerful processing capabilities

Asus has not only catered to the smartphone and wearable market with its Zenfone 2 and VivoWatch, but the company has recently launched an 8 inch Android running tablet called ZenPad S 8.0. In addition to ZenPad S 8.0, the Taiwanese tech firm has launch two different tablet variants, which will be available in the 7 and 10.1 inch screen sizes.

ZenPad S 8.0 only possesses a thickness of 6.6 mm and its screen size renders a resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels, making the product effectively radiate the same number of pixels as Apple's iPad Mini. The internal specifications of ZenPad S 8.0 are thoroughly impressive and users will find that performance is no stranger to Asus' large screen offering. The slate is assimilated with Intel's Atom Z3580 SoC, which is running a quad-core processor that is compatible with the 64 bit architecture.

Similar to its lineup of Zenfone 2, ZenPad S 8.0 features 4 GB of RAM, which should provide sufficient headroom for multitasking options or taxing mobile gaming applications. Due to its large screen size, the tablet can also be converted into a laptop substitute, although the Android Lollipop platform will hinder the efficiency of users since it is not as refined as the desktop version of Microsoft Windows.

Sound quality of ZenPad S 8.0 is expected to be top-notch. The front facing speakers will have their quality improved thanks to enhanced DTS for virtual surround sound action. Asus has made the tablet compatible with a stylus, but did not bundle one with the product's packaging. However, consumers who want to start using a stylus will have to make sure that they purchase the optional Z Stylus, since Asus has not yet confirmed if styluses belonging to other companies will be compatible with the slate.

Pricing and availability details have not yet been given by Asus, but similar to Zenfone 2, the company plans on making this product affordable to a wider audience.
