The Atlanta Hawks may open a spot on the team's roster for free agent Bryce Cotton, reports claim.

A report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore revealed that a source claimed that the Hawks could acquire at least one more player just before the team's training camp next month.

According to the report, the Hawks currently has 17 players. They can still add three more individuals to complete the maximum of 20 players per team. This will allow them to include another new point guard or someone who could take care of the frontline before the preseason begins.

The report mentioned that one of the names that the Hawks could consider is Cotton since he already managed to play for the team during the Summer League this year. The 24-year-old point guard last played for the Memphis Grizzlies but is currently in the free agency market after playing with the team for five games.

The Hawks can benefit from Cotton's possible contribution to the team. His latest game statistics averaged at 12.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists, in 19.6 minutes of average game time.

However, Cotton's possible inclusion on the Hawks' roster might be affected by the presence of the team's three point guards, namely Dennis Schröder, Shelvin Mack and Malcolm Delaney. The team already lost Jeff Teague to Indiana Pacers after a recent trade deal between the two organizations.

Meanwhile, speculations about the possible trade between the Hawks and the L.A. Lakers continue to be talked about online. According to Ecumenical News, the Lakers are eyeing power forward Paul Millsap for next season.

However, both teams and Millsap's camp have yet to comment on the rumored trade deal.
