The Atlanta Hawks will be looking for their third consecutive win of the preseason when they host the winless San Antonio Spurs this Wednesday at the Philips Arena.

Atlanta is still undefeated in the preseason winning over last season's Eastern Conference Finals opponents the Cleveland Cavaliers 98–96 in their opener and also beating the New Orleans Pelicans 103–93 in their second game.

Hawks reserve point guard Dennis Schroder led the way in their win over the Pelicans, scoring 11 points and also tallying one rebound and two assists.

Forward Al Horford and guards Kyle Korver and Kent Bazemore added 10 points each in the victory.

Last season, the Hawks were a surprise team as they cruised for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a 60–22 regular season record.

They made it until the conference finals but were overpowered by the Cavaliers who swept the series.

Meanwhile, after failing to defend their 2013 championship last season, the Spurs have also failed to secure a win in this year's preseason.

In two games played, San Antonio fell 95–92 to the Sacramento Kings and to championship rivals the Miami Heat, 97–94.

Offseason signing forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who had a subpar performance in his debut with the team in their loss to the Kings, bounced back in their defeat to Miami.

Aldridge paced the Spurs with 17 points, together with eight rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes of action.

Spurs stars Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard assisted Aldridge as they scored 14 points each also combining for 13 rebounds.

Despite the Spurs' original big three of Duncan, point guard Tony Parker, and shooting guard Manu Ginóbili playing, they were still unable to topple the Heat.

In their loss to the Kings, the big three decided to rest and did not play, with Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich also not present during that game.
