Who would have thought that Spider-Man will have a run-in with the terrifying, villainous giants from "Attack on Titan"?

According to an insider, the hit Japanese anime created by Hajime Isayama and Marvel Universe's iconic superheroes will have a crossover later this month.  The announcement was made by Marvel Comics talent scout C.B. Cebulski over his Twitter account, saying that the unexpected collaboration between the two comic worlds is indeed real.

"Not a joke, folks. Attack on Titan and the @Marvel universe are crossing over! In 2 weeks. In Japan. Want a teaser?" the talent scout tweeted.

Cebulski also shared in his social media account that he had been dreaming about the manga/comics crossover for years. He said that he had always believed that it would be nice to see the Marvel characters in the pages of manga, but it has never happened.  Until now.

Based on the illustration Cebulski shared to tease comics/manga fans, Spider-Man seems to be busy confronting two Titans who have striking resemblances to Eren and his friend and fellow Scout Corps soldier Annie Leonhart.

However, Cebulski did not offer any information about the plot of the crossover. Comic Book Resources did report that the idea will toy around the concept, "What if the titans from Hajime Isayama's 'Attack on Titan' attacked the Marvel Universe?"

Adult Swim's "Attack on Titan" is one of the most popular manga and anime series in Japan today. The plot revolves around the life of Eren Yeager who vows to defeat the gruesome man-eating giants known as Titans that wreak havoc on the planet.  The manga was first release back in 2009, but its popularity grew further when its anime version was released in 2013.

The Marvel Universe/Attack on Titan crossover is expected to be released in Japan in two weeks. Meanwhile, the U.S. and international release for the highly anticipated collaboration has yet to be announced by any of the representatives from both parties.
