The countdown has already begun for the much-awaited return of the worldwide phenomenon, "Attack on Titan." Following the events of the second season, "Attack on Titan" season 3 will see the continuation of the clash between the group of human survivors and the malevolent gigantic beings known as the titans. In the upcoming season, however, the mystery behind the titans' existence will be explored. Moreover, the fans will learn a shocking revelation about the titan shifters, as teased by the anime's game director.

"Attack on Titan" season 3 director Tetsuro Araki has something to say about the new chapter in the series. His statement about what to expect once the third season arrives this year is included in the special interview clip from season 2's Blu-ray release.

According to Araki, the fans should pay attention to the fates of the titan shifters, who were revealed in the later portion of the second season. To recall, Eren Jaeger is not the only titan shifter in the series as there are many others who are concealing their real identities.

"Pay attention to those that are finally revealed to be Titans in season 2 and how their fates are settled. We want to watch it soon, so I hope you all look forward to it," Araki said. It appears that "Attack on Titan" season 3 will feature the consequence to be faced by the newly-outed titan shifters, especially that the humans are will take this as an opportunity to take them down.

The titan shifters apart from Eren has been keeping their secret for a long time, and they are willing to do everything to hide their true identities. Back in season 2, Eren found out that his own comrades are actually titan shifters, forcing them to abduct him. The could not afford to let more people to know that they are titan shifters, that's why they chose to make Eren their hostage.

Fortunately for Eren, the Paradis military intervened and rescued him during one of the most intense battle sequences in "Attack on Titan." Some of the titanshifters include Reiner and Bertholt, who are revealed as the Armored Titan and Colossal Titan, respectively.

"Attack on Titan" season 3 will be released this April.
