The highly-anticipated "Attack on Titan" spin-off titled "Attack on Titan: Junior High" gets a new promo. Unlike the original series, this new anime, which features the characters as high schoolers, is pure madcap. There's no sign of a brooding aura. Even the Titans snacking on people no longer have that bloodcurdling impression.

The promo, which is the second one for the spin-off, shows the heroes dozing off and doing all sorts of craziness to overcome their boredom in class. It seems that most of them focus on learning how to defeat the flesh-eating giants that breed behind the giants walls. These brutes are even previewed in the clip as they munche on their wailing meals.

Although Eren and the gang are regular students in "Attack on Titan: Junior High," the anime itself is rather wacky, which should offer a different feel for fans of the original anime and manga series created by Hajime Isayama. The anime is an adaptation of the "Attack on Titan: Junior High" manga created by Saki Nakagawa. It is directed by Yoshihide Ibata and animation is provided by Production I.G.

The adventures of the young warriors will begin on Oct. 3 in Japan.

In other related news, season 2 of "Attack on Titan" will reportedly feature the death of Levi Ackerman as he rescues the new squad which includes Eren Yaeger, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. This scene is allegedly extracted from chapter 73 of the manga.

Additionally, the new season is expected to give more spotlight to Ymir and Krista Lenz, who is believed to be the masquerading Historia Reiss, the daughter of Rod Reiss who fled after being prohibited to train for the military to fight Titans.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 will air next year.
