While some fans might have confused the arrival of the "Attack on Titan" game next month with the release of season 2 of its anime counterpart, recent reports suggest that there might be some truth to it after all.

According to YouthHealthMag, the "Attack on Titan" game will be released by publisher Koei Tecmo for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita in Japan. Meanwhile, the global release of the game for North America and Europe, also set for this year, has yet to be confirmed.

Apparently, though, the game release in Japan might be followed by the roll-out of season 2 of the "Attack on Titan" anime adaptation.

IB Times reported that according to speculations, the next season will be the end of the anime show. Since the original manga is still ongoing, this might mean that the creators of the adaptation will have to veer away from certain events in order to bring closure to the anime's storyline.

According to Crossmap, the anime series' second season might add more Titans in the mix and there might even be an ape-like Titan that seems to have retained its intelligence and the capacity for human speech. Taking some plots off the original manga adaptation, the second season is also rumored to finally reveal the identities of the Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan, which turn out to be Bertolt Hoover and Reiner Braun.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that in order to bring the story to a close, season 2 of the "Attack on Titans" anime adaptation will see the death of some major characters, and some even believed that the main protagonist, Eren Yeager, as well as fan-favorite Levi Ackerman, will be casualties.

"Attack on Titan" is the adaptation of the "Shingeki no Kyojin" manga, which tells the story of humans trying to survive the onslaught of humanoid-like giants called Titans.
