The wait for "Attack on Titan" season 2 has been long but according to a report from Yibada, the second season might be ready to premiere by this coming February. However, the report points out that this release date is only for Japan and there is no word yet of an international release with English dubbing.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 has been held off for years because of the agreement between the manga creator and the studio behind the anime series. This agreement is that the anime will only begin production once the manga is at least four story arcs ahead to avoid the anime from taking over and creating its own story that may deviate from the direction the manga is heading toward.

The report also points out that the second season will not directly follow the events of the manga. This may hint at some filler work included in order to properly pace the season. The first season was 25 episodes long and also had additional content that was not in the original manga series.

It is also important to note that the February release date is also the scheduled release for the upcoming "Attack on Titan" video game, which will release for the PS Vita, PS3 and PS4. There is the possibility that the two will release simultaneously as part of a big celebration regarding the return of "Attack on Titan."

While nothing has yet been confirmed, the manga series that season 2 will follow will see the death of a few major characters while also introducing a few new Titans. Previous clips have also revealed the events that will directly follow the discovery of Titans living inside the walls and there will be an uprising against the corrupt king.

However, it is important to note that there is no official confirmation coming directly from Wit Studio and the supposed February release date for "Attack on Titan" season 2 should still be considered as speculation.
