Season 2 of Attack on Titan is all set and it will come in 2016.

The TV adaptation of the popular Japanese manga series will pick off from the first season which has already covered half of the series which started in October of 2014.

Production for season 2 seems to have been purposely delayed, considering season one had covered more than half of what had already been released. The second season will pick off from that and the delay was seen necessary to await newly published chapters.

In a related development, the actors and the director have also been named. Set to star on Attack on Titan Season 2 are actors Yuki Kaji, Marina Inoue and Yui Ishikawa while Tetsuro Araki has been confirmed to be the one tasked to direct.

One thing that fans of Attack on Titan will be glad to note is that there are no more filler episodes. This means that season 2 will bring more authentic chapters which are truthful and worth watching.

For those who cannot wait, there are two prequels they can check out for the meantime. These are "Attack on Titan: No Regrets, Birth of Levi" in December 9 last year and in April 9, episodes which should keep fans occupied owing to the long wait of the second season.

Other than that, there are two live Attack on Titan movies that are set to be shown this year. Produced by Toho Studios, this will mark the entry of Attack on Titan in US theaters. The films are scheduled to come out consecutively, the first of which will be in August and then the next in September.

Fans are divided over the live rendition, some feeling that it may tarnish the image of the said series while others looking forward on how the live action flick will turn out.

With 2016 still a long way off, the prequels and this live-action film should suffice for the time being.
