'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date: fans treated to 3-minute clip from new season

There's a new leak going around believed to be from "Attack on Titan" season 2.Koei Tecmo

Footage from "Attack on Titan" season 2 has surfaced online, purportedly showing almost three minutes from an episode of the highly anticipated new season of the hit anime. The clip has gone unnoticed for a while, as it was actually posted October last year.

The scene in the video (embedded below) shows Hange and her troop, who spotted a Titan's face in the wall. When she is asked by her legion what to do with it, Minister Nick rushes to her and tells her, as per the subtitles, to "not let the sun shine" on the Titan.

As the "Attack on Titan" season 2 leaked footage goes on, Hange realizes that the minister knew about the Titans inside the walls, who, when hit by sunlight, will be awakened.

She is then seen threatening Nick to speak about what he knows, but dodges the question and refuses to give out any information even though Hange threatened to kill him.

Nick sticks with keeping his secrets, ready to take them to his grave. His loyalty to his organization—Church of the Walls— is what eventually got the poor pastor killed. In the manga, he was tortured to death by people looking for information about the Survey Corps.

If the "Attack on Titan" season 2 footage is the real deal, which it appears to be, then the manga arcs to be featured will include The Female Titan, Clash of the Titans and The Uprising. It also suggests that Wit Studio has completed a good chunk of the upcoming season.

Despite this, however, "Attack on Titan" season 2 is expected to premiere next year. Reports say that there are not enough arcs from the manga that the anime can cover.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 was initially slated for a premiere this year. There haven't been any solid details that corroborate the purported challenges that the production came across.
