Fans of the hit franchise "Attack on Titan" rejoice! While the second season of the Japanese anime was originally slated for a 2016 release, the lack of information since the season was confirmed in November 2014 seemed like an unsurprising indication there will be a delay in the airing of the popular anime series "Attack on Titan."

Fans should not fret, however, because it is slated to come out in Spring 2017 instead.

According to reports, the season will revisit questions left unanswered by season 1 and delve into the horrifying Titans' origins.

Commander Erwin Smith is expected to suffer a great injury with the upcoming season when he comes face to face with the Beast Titan. Armin, on the other hand, will battle the Colossus Titan.

While both will be injured, it is reported that only one of them can be saved by the serum and it could go either way. Eren could ask Levi to save Armin instead of the captain, but with a great loss, fans are stepping up their expectations of the survivor.

This same theory was supported by a News Everyday report, but according to the online publication, Commander Erwin could perish while trying to save Eren. It is rumored that the captain's death will be a form of sacrifice since he believes that because Eren is a half titan, he is more important in winning the fight against the Titans. According to this version, it will be the captain and Eren who will be injured and the serum will save Eren's life.

It is expected that more will be known about the Titans in the upcoming season, and that the man-eating giants may or may not be linked with Eren's father. It has been rumored that Eren will have to go to his basement to search for clues and information that could help them win against the Titans.
