As reported by Comic Book, the fans can expect a speedier unraveling of events in "Attack on Titan" season 3 as the anime creators wishes to improve over the mistakes in the original manga material. In an interview with the Japanese-based magazine Animedia, "Attack on Titan" directors Masashi Koizuka and Tetsuro Araki revealed that the story's pacing will be faster compared to the previous seasons. The two have expressed their excitement on this as the story will "escalate quite a lot," in spite of the heavy contents of season 3.

A translated  portion of the full interview reveals that there will a more in-depth unraveling of the characters' motives. Following the surprising twists in season 2, "Attack on Titan" will see the characters becoming more complex, and the production team aims to clearly show the fans about their internal struggles.

Manga readers have often complained about the slow storytelling during the "Uprising" arc, which is the same material that will be used in the anime version's third season. It is uncertain if there are certain chapters from the manga that will be ommitted to keep a fast-paced run in the anime.

As "Attack on Titan" season 3 covers the "Uprising" arc, the fans will witness Eren and his friends being targetted by the Survey Corps. The governing body of human survivors in Paradis will learn that Eren is in the possession of the Coordinate, a powerful item that will change the course of the war against the flesh-eating titans. The rulers will eventually order the capture of Eren and Krista, who is actually a member of the royal Reiss family, Historia.

"Attack on Titan" season 3 is expected to premiere sometime in July 2018.
