Avalon to be Featured in First Episode of Renaissance Concert Series

|PIC1|Dove and American Music Award-winning group Avalon will be featured in the first episode of the Church Communication Network's new Renaissance Concert Series in the US, premiering this autumn.

The 90-minute performance will be offered for broadcast to more than four thousand churches.

Filmed earlier this year, the concert finds Avalon showcasing a dynamic selection of its 20 #1 hits to date.

"We had a wonderful time singing songs from our past 11 years, and the crowd could not have been any better," says founding Avalon member Janna Long.

With more than a decade's worth of acclaim and accolades under its belt, Avalon continues to reach new musical heights. The quartet recently received its 25th Dove Award nomination, getting a nod in the Inspirational Recorded Song category for "Orphans of God" from the popular 2006 album, Stand.

Another more recent release, Faith: A Hymns Collection, may be the group's best-reviewed set to date. ChristianMusicToday.com calls the collection of newly recorded classic church songs "Avalon at its best" while Billboard magazine says, "These voices and these songs are a match made in heaven."

Posting at Avalon's website, Long said Avalon are already back in the studio working on another new project.
