After announcing that Brie Larson will portray the role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the upcoming standalone film "Captain Marvel," speculations claim that the character will have to miss out on the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" saga.

Movie Pilot analyzed the statement mentioned by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige during the Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con last weekend, where he said:

"It's something we've never done before. And it's indicative of where we're going – which was not spoken off during today's presentation – which is 'Infinity War.' Joe and Anthony and Stephen and Christopher are hard at work on that and we start shooting at the end of the year. It will really be the capstone to all of this material we have been working on since 2006."

He also mentioned that Larson will not appear in any film under the Marvel Cinematic Universe until her own movie was released. This contradicted the statement of film director Anthony Ross, who told the panel at the UDC Theater in Washington back in May that the character will join the first and second installment of "Avengers: Infinity War."

But since Larson's "Captain Marvel" was scheduled to premiere on March 8, 2019 and the first part of the "Avengers: Infinity War" saga will be released on May 4, 2018, it means that it will be impossible for her to join the star-studded cast composed of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Josh Brolin as Thamos, among others at least for the first part of the superhero movie saga.

However, she can still alongside the other Avengers when the part two of "Avengers: Infinity War" premieres on May 3, 2019.
