With less than a year to go before the much awaited sequel of "The Avengers" graces the screen, Marvel Studios finally launched the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" website to promote the upcoming movie. On Dec. 8, the new "Avengers 2" website was launched, and it features new music that is said to be the new musical score for the upcoming film. 

The new music, which evidently has an electric tone, is said to be very apt with the character of the film's new antagonist, Ultron, played by James Spader. Ultron is a robot known to be very ruthless, and plans to eradicate regular humans to make the world a better place. 

The new website also posted the film's official synopsis, which reads: 

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Aside from the film's plot, there are limited details posted on the website as of the moment. 

A new behind the scenes video for the star-studded film was also recently released alongside the Digital HD and Blu-ray release of "Guardians of the Galaxy," another Marvel blockbuster film. The video shows Joss Whedon's explanation about the upcoming "Avengers" installment, as well as information about Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and her twin brother, Quicksilver, portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. 

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Col. James Rhodes, Paul Bettany as Vision, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Stellan Skarsgård as Erik Selvig, as well as Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. 

The film will be released on May 1, 2015.
