The long wait for the upcoming film "Avengers: Infinity War" became even shorter by a week, following a nicely plotted Twitter exchange and announcement by Marvel Studios and Iron Man himself, Robert Downey, Jr. Originally set for release on May 4, the mammoth film from Marvel's cinematic universe will now be on Apr. 27 worldwide.

After the studio posted a tweet asking fans to share their level of excitement for the premiere, Downey Jr. responded by asking if he could see it earlier with a few friends. When asked back if he meant watching it with the rest of the Avengers, the actor said that he was actually referring to "the entire world."

In response, Marvel Studios finally made the official announcement on its Twitter page.

According to Express, this could be the studio's way of managing a major "global spoiler situation," in the event that North America would be one of the last to see the film in theaters. A second reason might be because May is already loaded with big releases, including "Deadpool 2" and "Solo: A Star Wars Story." The Ryan Reynolds' starrer is expected to be a box-office hit, so in order to give it enough allowance to achieve financial success, The Avengers would have to wait a bit more.

Coincidentally, "Solo: A Star Wars Story" is also under the umbrella of Disney, which owns both the Star Wars and the Marvel franchises. The spin-off movie about Han Solo is expected to be a major release as well but, early on in the game, it has been getting mixed levels of anticipation from the viewers. It might have been a wise move from the studio to give it ample time to gain leverage as well, before dropping the ultimate bomb of the season.
