The ladies and the gentlemen in "Bachelor in Paradise" season 2 have gotten to know each other better during the course of the show. Some coupled up while others didn't quite ignite that spark. There are five couples supposed to be headed to the season finale, but one pair's romance takes a heartbreaking turn.

According to tipster Reality Steve, Kirk and Carly go their separate ways before the show moves to its conclusion, with the former calling it quits. The personal trainer allegedly breaks up with Carly, who does not see this coming at all and how things end is "unlike anything we've seen on the show before," according to a source who spoke to E! Online

The promo shows their fellow season 2 contestant Jade calling someone a "coward" and according to speculators, Jade is talking to Kirk. Nonetheless, it looks like this is the end for the once-solid couple. Not expecting this at all, Carly goes home with a broken heart before a Fantasy Suite one-on-one date.

That said, Nick and Samantha, Joshua and Tenley, Tanner and Jade, and Justin and Cassandra make up the four couples headed to the season 2 finale. E! Online's source said that two of these pairs stay together, while one goes a step ahead and gets engaged.

As for the two individuals who caught each other's eye and formed a romantic bond, only call it quits in the end, rumor mills point to Joshua and Tenley who allegedly decide to split during the finale.

While most of the romance seems to have flourished until the end of the show, there's no telling as to which of them survive as a couple beyond the series. There are high hopes for Jade and Tanner, with the former accidentally revealing she was Periscoping from the latter's house.

The first part of the "Bachelor in Paradise" season 2 finale airs on Sept. 7 and the second part airs on Sept. 8.
