'The Bachelor' season 20 rumors: Ben Higgins to be the next Bachelor?

Is Ben Higgins from The Bachelorette season 11 the next Bachelor?ABC

Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of "The Bachelorette" featured several men who have the potential to be the next Bachelor. While it was previously rumored that Nick Viall might be the one handing out the roses in the next season of the hit ABC reality show, a new report claims that another gentleman has been chosen, and it's none other than Ben Higgins.

According to Us Weekly's source, Ben will be in the 20th season of "The Bachelor" and that he has already freed up his schedule to appear on the show. The 27-year-old reality TV personality reportedly turned down a big promotion at work and put his relationship with Tenley Molzahn on pause because "they're being careful not to jeopardize Ben H.'s 'Bachelor' stint."

Ben was the second runner-up in Kaitlyn's season, and he instantly became a fan favorite due to his polite manner. During the season, he also became friends with Shawn Booth, who is now Kaitlyn's fiancé.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Ben graduated from Indiana University in 2012 with a bachelor of science in business administration and management. While in college, he founded the Indiana University Basketball Club. It also appears that he did some faith-based volunteer work in Cuzco, Peru while in college. He was also the student ministries intern at his hometown church, the Warsaw Community Church.

According to Heavy.com, Ben is a Christian and his faith is important to him. The site claims that he has one tattoo, and it's a bible verse from Proverbs 16:3 that reads, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."

Ben currently works as a business analyst for Talisys in Colorado, which is a financial services software firm. As seen on his Twitter feed, he also volunteers at church camp and supports a nonprofit organization called Humanity and Hope.

As of the moment, ABC has not made an official announcement about Ben's casting. Last month, he spoke to E! News and said that if he was asked to be the next Bachelor, he would have to consider a few things before he says yes.

"I have a good job, though. I have a life that is steady, I have a house in Denver and I have a great family … I think if the offer was on the table, there'd be things I'd have to consider and seriously consider those things," Ben said.
