Barcelona are top of Group E so far at the half way stage of the group stages. The Catalan club are on seven points after three games, where as BATE are third on three points from their three games.

Bayer Leverkusen are second on four points, where as Italian club Roma are bottom at the moment with just two points from their three games.

If Roma fail to win today, and Barcelona gain a victory as expected, then the Spanish team will be guaranteed their spot in the next round with two games to spare in the group stages.

Luis Suarez is one player who will be highly motivated to score and win today's game. He is on the verge of surpassing Diego Maradona and Romario in Barcelona's all time list of top goalscorers. Suarez has already scored 36 times for the Spanish team since moving there from Liverpool. That is just two goals fewer than Maradona, and three short of Romario - so a hat trick in today's game would draw Suarez level with Romario.

Despite Lionel Messi suffering an injury recently, Barcelona have pushed on in the Spanish La Liga and are second to Real Madrid only on goal difference. Over the past four games, Neymar and Suarez have combined to score a massive 10 goals between them, and they will not be rested for today's game as Barcelona look to send a message to the rest of Europe.

Barcelona Luis Enrique has spoken about the problems he is having rotating his squad in light of the team's transfer ban - they are unable to use any new signings until the new year.

He has said, "Last year I was able to do what I wanted with the amount of minutes that players had, even though I was criticized at the time, and now I am restricted by the number of players available. We will have players back soon, along with other players available in January, and we will see if then we can arrange the minutes played because I am aware that the trophies are disputed in the final months and that is the key."
