'Bates Motel' season 4 spoilers, cast: Ryan Hurst to return as Chick

Ryan Hurst as Chick A&E

"Bates Motel" season 4 is about to get a little crazier as a report from TVLine confirms that Ryan Hurst is set to come back to portray the crazy mountain man Chick. That is not going to sit well for Dylan (Max Thierot), particularly after the events that went down in the finale of season 3.

Back in season 3, Dylan needed money for Emma's (Olivia Cooke) surgery and it turned out Chick would pay a high amount for a simple gun run, but Chick's "partner" wasn't expecting Dylan and his father Caleb (Kenny Johnson) to be the ones to meet him.

What was supposed to be a simple gun run turned into a shoot-out as Chick's associate tried to kill Dylan in order to send Chick a message. Caleb shot first and by the end of the season, he left town and took all of Chick's money with him, leaving Dylan to deal with the consequences by himself.

By season 4, Chick may be hunting Dylan down to claim his money and maybe get some revenge along the way. This might place him in direct conflict with Norman (Freddie Highmore), who in turn would bring his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) into the mess.

Besides bringing the issue to Norma and Norman — which could lead to murderous results — Chick might be led to hurt Emma if he can't directly reach Dylan. Not only will this bring Dylan's wrath to rain on Chick but it will also get Norman involved, too, as he has developed a strong relationship with Emma throughout the show.

Showrunner Kerry Ehrin also confirmed in the TVLine report that some characters from season 1 who haven't popped up since may be returning in season 4., although she didn't specify who will be coming back.

What happens to Dylan and the Bates family will be seen once "Bates Motel" season 4 premieres in 2016.
